Instagram is everywhere, and for good reason. It's fun, easy to use, and integrated with Facebook so that you can share Instagram content on the world's largest social network. Since online marketing for real estate is very visual in nature, Instagram is also a perfect platform for promoting photos and video content for your real estate business. The only downside is that Instagram's huge popularity can make it hard to stand out in a sea of carefully edited photo and video content.

No problem! The team at Delta Media Groupbelieves in the power of Instagram for real estate social media marketing, and we've got tips to help you build a presence your clients will love.

Integrating Instagram: Creating Content That Stands Out for All the Right Reasons

  • Create, Create, Create – There are good times to hire a professional photographer for real estate marketing, but building your real estate social media presence on Instagram isn't one of them. Instead, stick to sharing photos or videos that you (or one of your agents) created. You don't want your images to look rushed or shabby, but even a smart phone can take a nice photo with a little practice. Put effort into the content you create, but don't worry about making it perfect.

  • Video Content – Photos are very easy to create, and make up the bulk of content that most real estate agents share on Instagram. While images are great, don't sleep on video content. Video allows you to add a dash of personality, share useful advice, and just generally bring your audience closer to your business. This is another area where you want to put care into the creation of your content, and you can produce quality videos with some knowledge of basic editing software.

  • Avoid Stock Images – In fact, don't share any images from others that you don't have permission to share yourself. In addition to being a poor business practice (and often illegal), sharing stock images won't do anything to wow your Instagram audience. Creating your own content is the best way to avoid these headaches. And if someone else shares a photo that you know your followers will love, simply ask permission and provide attribution when re-sharing.

  • Share Automatically – In the settings menu, you can choose to automatically share your Instagram photos to your connected Facebook and Twitter accounts. Doing so is usually a good idea because it allows you to reach your entire audience, rather than just the people who log into Instagram exclusively.

  • Be Authentic – This goes back to the idea that creating your own content is key to Instagram success. With video content, use your own voice and don't be afraid to show off your personality. No matter what you share, be sure to dive into the comments when something you share generates conversation. Be professional, but be you.

  • Learn to Edit – Editing photos with Instagram is actually quite easy, and you'll want to learn the basics before you start creating content. Video content is slightly more challenging, but there are tons of free tools and tips available. Sometimes the most important step with editing is simply not over-doing it. Make sure your photos look clean, crisp, and attractive, but be careful which filters you choose to use.

From home listings to how-to videos, Instagram allows you to promote every aspect of your real estate business, in a format that's fun for everyone involved. Contact the team at Delta Media Group to learn more about the benefits of social media marketing for the real estate industry today!
