"I have a Facebook, but I'm thinking of deleting it." Sound like anyone you know? Maybe you're even thinking, "sounds like me."Â
My name is Anna Stoffer, and I am Delta Media Group's new Social Media Specialist. While it is a newer title for me, social media is not new to me at all.Â
Like many in my generation, I grew up with the first taste of using social media by pouring hours into my MySpace page and chatting with friends on AIM. I created my first webpage before I had my first kiss. My parents had to pry me away from the screen during my teenage years. Looking back, that's when I first fell in love with social media.Â
And up until recently, I felt like I needed to keep that a secret. In some circles, it's almost taboo to say, "I like social media." I once even took a year-long break from Facebook because of how often I was being told it's "too negative." I suppose, like any relationship, I just needed to miss it for a while to appreciate it. It's often an unpopular opinion to like social media, but one I hope you'll hear me out on. (Or rather, read on).Â
Social media often gets a bad rap; however, it is a good thing when we use it in the right context. Take for examples two of the most recent worldwide events. First, the global spread of a virus with which we are encouraged to keep physically distant from one another. We relied on the gateways that social media provided to stay connected with family and friends. Next, the bands of people that rallied together for justice, creating the largest movement in history the reality of today. Both of these events had influences that were heavily narrated by the multiple avenues of communication that we have through online technology.
I'm here to help correct the negative perspective that many might currently have towards social media platforms, and encourage each of you to be confident with your voices and businesses online. After consulting our marketing team at Delta Media Group, and brainstorming how we can show our clients that we genuinely care about each of them, we are ready to give your social media platforms the "love" they deserve. (See what I did there?)
Here are some of the new things Delta is doing on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn:
Each of these should generate additional traffic to your site, which will hopefully translate to more leads and more houses sold!
At Delta Media Group, we are more than just a website provider. We are your partner and cheerleaders. We always advocate for each of our agents, which I think is what I love the most about joining my husband, Franklin, and this team of wonderful people. I encourage you to check out the refreshed look at our pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Follow us (last pun, I promise) on the journey to loving social media.
We respect your concerns about privacy and value the relationship that we have with you.
