Good morning, and welcome to another edition of Tech Tuesday, presented by Delta Media Group where we're pretty sure that as the camera panned out and Leo DiCaprio saw his family out playing in the yard, that top on the table just kept on spinning.

So today we're going to go with something that is a newly added feature that, I mean the system's always been capable of it, but for it's been around about what you had to get there. What this is about is handling customer subscriptions or customer email opt outs basically. So the way the system works is every email that system sends out or just about every email, depending what it is, we'll have a link at the bottom that a customer can use to opt out of email.

And previously the customer could use that link, go to their email opt out page and kind of manage their subscriptions there, choose what they wanted to opt out of what they wanted to stay opted into. Whether they wanted to opt out everything from the company or not and all that. But the issue was once they changed that there wasn't really a good way for them to get back into it and make any changes. Once they opt out, they would have to go back to an old email and use that link again to get back into that page and make changes. They couldn't just contact their agent and say me back in. So now there was a good way to do that. So let's go into the Delta net and take a look.

So here I am on the welcome page and what we're going to do is get to one of the customer profile pages. So I'll just go down to customers and customer center and we will roll our way down here and find a customer. How about Mr. the seller? It's pretty good, right? I was feeling creative when I made that one. So I click on their name. That opens up their customer profile page and we'll just scroll down here. You see you have their profile section so I can click on edit profile to open all that up. But I actually don't have to get to this. I'll just scroll down in that profile section and we'll see here we have the email opt out field, so the way that used to work, you just said email opt out and it was just yes or no.

If the customer had opted out, it would only opt them out of a specific type of email. So if they had clicked the opt out button in a campaign email they received, then this would tell you that they had opted out of campaigns. So it wouldn't just say yes or no. It would say no or it would say yes if they were opted out of everything or if they were just opted out of one thing, it might say CRM or email blast, depending on what they'd opted out of. But you could just switch it between yes and no. So it wasn't kind of a direct match. But now, if I click on the view email subscriptions link. So first off by seeing no, we can tell that they're not opted out of everything because this would still say yes if they were globally opted out.

So opted out of all email from the company. But we'll click on view email subscriptions and that opens up their subscribe, and unsubscribe page or their email opt out page. So from here, keep in mind that this page is designed for the customer, so you're just, you're seeing a page that was meant to be accessed by them. So that's why the verbiage might seem a little bit strange. So when we look at it, you're thinking of this as an email opt out form or generally a lot of people are when they hit this. So you see all marketing from and then all the different marketing types and those were all checked. So if you're thinking of this as a email opt out form your thinking that the things that are check marked here are things that are opted out of. And that's not actually true.

The way this is set up is if we read over the verbiage, so sorry to see you go [inaudible 00:05:53]. Here we go. So email address subscriptions is kind of the important part. So this is saying that you are subscribed to these things or this customer is subscribed to these things. So if you wanted to opt them out, you would actually uncheck this instead of checking it. The idea is if they came to this page is an email opt out page, they would see, okay, these are all the things I'm subscribed to. So if I don't want to get them, I uncheck them. So the idea is if a customer were to contact you and say, yeah, I accidentally opted out of your marketing emails and I want to get those again. Or say you yourself accidentally opt, you make a customer account for testing these things and you opt yourself out.

You can go back in here and in order to opt yourself back in, you just put a check mark and I'll take all the check marks away, but you would just go here and you would put a check mark next to the box that you want to receive. Or if you want to receive everything you just click the all marketing. And now all that check mark. If you were signed up for individual things or if this customer was signed up for individual things like an individual market watch or no individual home finders, things like that where they're getting saved search emails, those will be listed on this page also. So if they just want to turn off individual things like turn off and individual save search, those options will be in here too and it'll just list out everything that this customer is getting. The only thing that doesn't work like that is at the bottom it says unsubscribed from all communications.

If I check this box, now that sets me as unsubscribed from everything, and this will actually have the company site name here at the end it says Delta Media Group test site, but it will be your company name, so if you check that or if the customer uses this opt out page and checks that, that means they're unsubscribing from everything from the company regardless of what agent it would come from and regardless of what system is sending it. Be it a Drippy mail or an Email Blast or an eCard, anything like that. So I'll leave this customer opted in and when you have it all set up the way you want, you just click change subscriptions and it'll modify their subscription accordingly. So there you go. That is all there is to it. So let me close out of that page so you can see that, this really simplifies the entire email opt out system.

That way whenever you get any questions like that, how do I opt back in or if you opted or if you tried to send yourself an email and the system says that you're opted out, you can now get into that page and you can manage all that. So kind of a short one today so as always thanks a lot for joining me.
