Video Transcription

Hello, and welcome to another edition of Tech Tuesday, presented by Delta Media Group, where, just like Kevin Costner and Robin Hood we are an advocate for the people. That is, Kevin Costner and Robin Hood, not Cary Elwes and Robin Hood, if you remember that one, or what else? Who else played Robin Hood? The guy who played Gladiator, that guy, can't remember his name. Oh well, anyway, not him, not him. We're very much Kevin Costner, Robin Hood.

So today, I have actually, kind of a short one for you, but it's a good one, and it's a cool feature, right? Some of the coolest features are the ones that are short and easy to go over. So, let's go into the DeltaNet and take a look. Now, what we're going to do is, we have added the ability for you to go in and embed a YouTube video, or sort of embed YouTube video into emails that you send out to customers.

This feature may expand some in the future, but for now it's all about creating a video, putting it on YouTube, and then being able to insert that into an email in such a way that the thumbnail for that video goes out to the customer, and it's just automatically turned into a thumbnail that's clickable for them, that takes them through to the video page. So it just makes it more convenient for you to share videos out with your customers and your prospects.

So to do it, it's integrated into two of the email features at this point. So the first one, I'm going to go down to customers, and then customer center, and we'll just go down under actions. We have email customers, so I'm gonna click on that, and what I can do here is fill out one of my customer names or group names, and this is just auto fill as I type, so if I were to type in a group name, you can see all the groups load up here. And then I can select from those, and I can put any combination of individual customers or whole groups up here. I can copy any of them, I can blind copy any of them, I can create my email subject here, my YouTube video email.

With this particular editor, I can add any files if I wanted to send out any file attachments on this one, small file attachments, and then down here I have my my content. So check out my video. Now, this is just the standard wizard we got here, that you have on all the email editors in the DeltaNet, or most of the email editors in the DeltaNet, and you have various formatting options so you can set up the text however you'd like, you can change colors, you can put in pictures.

And now, if I want to embed a YouTube video, I can go to insert, and down to media, or I could just click on this little media button right here, and that opens up this interface, and now what I'll need to do is paste in my YouTube video URL or my share URL here. So what have I done, hang on, there we go. So it just so happens I have a video open, does this look like a familiar intro to you? Now, to get the URL for this, I can either grab the URL out of the address bar, or I have this convenient little share button here, so I'll just click on share, and there is my video share URL, so I'll click on copy. And that copies it into my clipboard, and I now we'll go back to my other browser tab, and I'll just paste that in here, hit okay, and there you have it.

So what it's doing is, it's grabbing the thumbnail that's set up for this video in YouTube, and it is displaying it right here as the a kind of clickable link to this video. So it automatically inserted this graphic, and then, because this is just really a graphic at this point, that you can see, there, it's an image, and it's set up as a link, I can manipulate this a little bit if I want to. So if I wanted to change the size of it, I can do that, or maybe I just want to make it centered, so we'll center it, maybe make it a little smaller there. There you go. So just like that, I've inserted a video into an email. And I would go down here to the bottom, hit send, and that would send this video out to the customers that I've selected for this.

Now, the next place I can do this, if I hit cancel there, if I go to customers and down to email blasts, I have the same functionality there. So here we have all of our email blast templates that are prebuilt, so you could actually add a video to any one of those if you wanted, because that'll just load them up down in the editor. In fact, if I go here, and say I want to use this one, so we'll go to use, just like the other editor I fill in my customers individually or my groups into the two, the copy and the blank copy fields.

I can manipulate the subject line if I want to. And then, in addition, with email blasts I can set a future send date if I want. So by default this will be the current date, but I could push that out to a later date by just clicking my calendar here and selecting another day. So we'll do Friday, why not.

And now you can see my content has loaded up down here, but let's say I don't want this picture, let's say I want to put a video here instead. So I'll just click on that, hit delete, so that's gone. Now we'll go back over to my YouTube tab, and I'll go the same video, why not. Actually, even better, we'll go back to our channel here, and I'll pick another video, just like the other one I'll click on share, that loads up my share URL. We'll copy, I'll switch back over here. You can see my cursor is there, so I'll say we use the button this time. Paste in my URL, hit okay, and there you have it. And I'll center it, and there's my email.

So just like that I've replaced the image with the video, or with the video link, and we're all set to go. Now, to get an idea of what this will look like, since I don't have an easy way of sending the email out, well, to any of you, because I don't have your email addresses. Or sending it out to myself and showing it to you, I'll just click on preview, and ultimately, this is what the email is going to look like. So you can see all the content is there, and if I click here, it's going to load up that YouTube video page. So there you go. That is how you can now add in YouTube videos and easily email YouTube videos out to your customers.
