Harley:

Welcome to Tech Tuesday presented by Delta Media Group, where we're thinking if gamma wave radiation can give you the powers of the Incredible Hulk, then why can't Delta radiation give you the powers of a real estate marketing expert, huh? Something to think about. All right, so today we are going to take a look at the expense report functionality. It's kind of a handy little feature. There's not a whole lot to it, so we'll have a quick one today. But, it is a handy little feature that allows you to just track your expenses in the Delta net so that you can easily produce a CSV or something along those lines for them at the end of the year.

Harley:

To get to it, if that functionality is turned on for you, you can either go up here and you can type expense report up at the top, and you can see if there's a tile that exists for you. You can get there that way. Or oftentimes you'll find it under the other resources tab, and then there's an expense report button there. Either way that will take you to this expense report page. From here, it really is as simple as just adding new expenses, putting in a value, and saving it. That's about it. I'm just going to click on add new expense. We'll say we have an incoming expense for signs, because you need signs, right? We'll say we put $500 into signs, and actually we minus $500 into signs because it was an expense. Right? We'll put a date in here and we'll say we just bought signs on August 1st. Save my expense, and there we go. We have our expense in here and we have it totaled up.

Harley:

We'll go ahead and add a couple more. Let's say we also need gas. Why not? Put $500 in gas, prices have been up. We'll say we did that on this day. Add an expense. Oh, can see I made it an income instead of an expense, but we can take care of that. We'll just click on edit, put a minus there, update, and now it's an expense. You can see very simply you just put them in with their date, minus when it's an expense, and it will calculate that up. If I want to remove any of these, it's as simple as clicking delete, and now I can delete my expense, so now that one is gone. I can also search through my expenses very quickly once I have them entered. It's not much of an example to filter down to, because that's the only one there. But, if I do type in sign, you can see that it does filter down.

Harley:

We'll add a few quick ones just without anything special added to them. Go back a little ways there, there we are. Minus, plus, isn't going to do us much good. There we go, minus. Pick a random date for that one. There we are. You can see how easy it is just to drop these expenses in here. Now, the point of this is that, then at the end of the year, I can have all of my expenses saved here. I can choose how many I see per page, even. Then I can produce a report of, let's say, all the expenses that happened between July 1st of 2021. I might be going back a little far for that. Let's go out to '22. Now, it defaults to the previous year dates in some cases because it's designed to be a yearly reporting tool. But, you can see now that I have my dates in and refreshed my report, it limits only to the expenses or income amounts that took place during that time period. Just a nice, easy way for me to do that.

Harley:

We'll go ahead and back this one out so we can see everything again. Now, the idea is beyond putting in that information to narrow my report down, is that I can also just export this as a CSV at the end of the year when tax time comes around and I want to just have a report of all of my expenses here. Export CSV, and very simply, it just downloads an expense report CSV for me. We'll save that and that will download to my machine, and now I can use that CSV however I'd like. There you have it, that is the expense report system that is built into the Delta net. Very simple, but sometimes the best things are the best because of their simplicity. I would kind of consider this one of those things. As always, thanks a lot for joining me. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to send an email to support@deltagroup.com or give us a call and we can help you through this or whatever else you need. Thanks a lot, and I will see you again next week.
