Hello, and welcome to another edition of Delta Media Group's Tech Tuesday. Today, we're kind of going to go over something that we have gone over a couple of times before. Basically it just comes down to adding your social media links in, but we have added a lot of new features kind of surrounding the whole social media link structure, where you can add them, what you can use them for, and what they do, so that's what we're going to go over today.
So into the DeltaNet. And here we are on our Welcome page. The first thing I'll go over is adding social media links to your own profile. What that'll do is make them appear on your website's home page, and allow you to include them in your outgoing emails.
To do that, go down here to Website, and then Overviews, and then a fun trick for this page is I can either scroll down and find my social media section or, the fun trick, if I go to this search box in the top right and just type social, it'll narrow the entire page down to just the section I'm looking for or just, in this case, a section that contains the word social.
Here are my social media links. Now what I'll do is go ahead and enter ... Now what I would actually be doing here is going to my Facebook profile page, copying the URL from my page, and then pasting it in here. Same for Twitter. Same for LinkedIn. And I'm just typing in the names of them so that we can get a look at them.
You go through. You paste in all your social media links, and then an additional feature we've added ... You have all the standards, or all the most popular ones, Facebook, Twitter. Those will automatically use the appropriate icon. Now YouTube, Google Plus, all those, and then now you can add additional new social media links that we haven't thought of on our list basically. Right now we have Myspace, some social site. I don't know what social site that would be, somesocialsite.com. I have no idea if that's a real site. And I can just keep clicking the button to add more, if I'd like to add additional.
Once you have those in place, Update Social URLs. That attaches those social media URLs to my profile, and if I preview my website here, and refresh it ... Now apparently on this template, I just get one social media link, but you can see here, my Myspace link is in place. And let me check a different template. It's all coming together now. I promise. Well, I give up. All right.
You add your social media links on that page. What that'll do is add them to your profile, and then depending on which template you're using or which website theme you're using, they should show up on your homepage. And then also, it will allow you to use them in any of your emails.
If I switch myself over here to the account I added those in on originally, I've got my social media links in place here on my Overviews page. Now additionally, I can include them as the lead signature on any emails that go out on my behalf. So to do that, I'll go to Leads & Contacts, and down to Settings, and we'll scroll down here, and these are the email settings for my Lead Settings section. What these will do is control the emails that kind of come and go through the system, but the main thing we're looking at here is this Leads & Contacts Signature. From here we can see all of the social media links that I've entered on my Overviews page. There's an entry for them on the right side of the page. By clicking on them, and clicking Insert Link, it will go ahead and insert the URL that I put in for each of these social media pages.
If I want the system to try to take those on HTML-based emails, and change those into the icons for each social media site, I can go down here and I can change this to a Yes, and what that'll do is try to convert all of those URLs into the appropriate icons. So that way, any email that goes out as text-based will still have my entire Facebook link, the entire Facebook page URL, down here at the bottom of it, but on any that are HTML-based, it's going to put the icon in instead of that.
So switch that to Yes, and I just go down to the bottom of the page and save preferences. And that takes care of that. So now any email that goes out on my behalf should have my social media links on it based on the ones that I have chose to include there.
Now, the last place where we have added social media links is if we go to Customers, and Customer Center. On every one of these customer pages, you can now add social media links directly to your contacts. Let's say we have Jimmy Mcgill here. On his page, I'll go ahead and click Edit Profile, and we'll scroll down a bit, and here are the Social Media Link sections. From here, we have Facebook, Instagram. We've added those in. Let's say he also has a Twitter page, and how about a YouTube page. Wow. We'll do it the right way though. Twitter page, and then we'll add another one, and then we'll make that YouTube. And those are the only ones we have in at this point, but we may add more down the road.
Once you have all their social media links in place, we'll go down here to the bottom, click Done. That'll save it. And now you can see on their profile page, if we scroll down, right here are links to that customer social media page. So if you want to be able to store the social media profile URLs for all your customers or any of your customers, you can add them in there to their profile, and then if you want just a quick way to go and get to their page, if you want to see their Facebook page, their Twitter page, or whatever, you can just go here, click on the link, and that'll take you over there. And that's all there is to it.
