In this week's Tech Tuesday, Harley Wolfarth demonstrates how to market to your real estate clients using the eCards and Flyers system found in the DeltaNET.

Video Transcription

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Tech Tuesday presented by Delta Media Group, where we know that in order to get things fixed in Soviet Russia, you have to kick them. That's what you have to do. Today, we are going to jump into the e-card system and take another look at it. We have done a number of e-card videos in the past and we just keep adding things to it. Let's cover it again. Let's go into the Delta net and take a look.

First off, to get to the e-card system, we're going to go down here to customers and then e-cards and flyers. Now I say e-card system, but it actually does e-cards, print flyers and postcards. You have some options there as far as the kind of print media you can create. Now the things that we've added to it recently are the ability to send a preview out before you actually set up the e-card. Before what you had to do is basically set yourself up as a customer and sign yourself on to preview it. Now there's an actual built-in preview function and also, we've added the ability to save a draft. You can go in and create an e-card, get it all set up the way you want, save the draft and then go back in later on and make changes to it if you want.

First and foremost, from the e-card page, we select the template we want. To give you an idea of what we have, we'll go down to filter by type. From here I can select e-card if I just want to see the e-cards. You'll see we've been sticking to holidays, I'm going to call the Super Bowl holiday. Why not? It fits, right? This narrows your templates down to just the actual cards. Now, I can switch this over to print flyers. We can see here these are our print flyer examples.

Again, you can just scroll down the list to find the one you want. You can also search by keywords here. I have a lot of numbers in this because you can search by template ID. If you do find a template that you like, like this one says print template 362, if I remember my template ID, that I can just type it in and it will narrow down to just that template. That can be pretty handy to quickly get you to the one you want if you find that you're using the same e-card, the same handful of e-cards, pretty frequently, or templates I should say.

Then lastly, I can choose a postcard and you can see that these are postcard options. Keep in mind that the postcards print a little bit differently. I'll go ahead and make one so we can take a look at it. Let me just grab one of these postcards here. To set one up, and this process is the same regardless of whether you're setting an e-card or a flyer or what kind of a template you're using, but you just click on your template and that brings you here. Now, if this template has a property attached to it it'll automatically pull in property information. You can select your property over here.

One thing of note is that it will fill in with your listings by default, but I can type an MLS ID here or an address and it'll bring me back all the matches. So really, I can set this up for any listing. It doesn't necessarily have to be mine. If I have a buyer that is interested in a certain kind of property and I see that property come on the market, even though it's not one of mine, I can still send them an e-card that features that one. That is how you would do that. And you can see over here, it filled in with my information. I can zoom out a little bit. Here we go. Here's my little slider there.

Get a listing back on there. That's... There we go. So there we go. Now from here there are different elements on these templates and it's going to depend on which template you're looking at as to what's editable, but in this case, you can see when I roll over a new headline, it highlights in red. That means if I click on it, it opens up my inline editor and I can change this. Now in that case, if I click on a picture, I can go down and I can select different pictures for this listing. I have no idea who most of these pictures are from. Probably not on this listing specifically, but I always like bathroom pictures on my postcards.

If you click on any of the pictures, you can select from other listing photos and you can see a lot of the text is generally editable, especially on the newer ones. Now you can also change out the logo. If this is mainly meant for, if you have like a dark background versus a light background and different kinds of company logos, if you see that it doesn't look very good here, you can click on it and change that to a different version. We'll change that to the light one and that shows up much better.

Now as we go down the line, some of the new functionality we've added is we have this save as draft. I'm going to call this my postcard draft and save. Just like that, I have saved a draft for this one. Now if I go back, let's say I move on, I do some other things and then I go back to the e-cards page, later on, you can see I have this your safe draft section at the top. If I click on the arrow and expand that right there is my draft. Now from here, I can delete it. It gives me some information about when this draft is actually created. That's particularly useful I've found if you are creating a lot of different drafts. Yeah, you can see the most recent one. You can kind of differentiate them by date if you're using the same template on a lot of different drafts.

We'll go ahead and click on it. There we go. You see it loaded back up and it loaded up with the selections that I had already made. From here I can make more modifications to it or if I'm ready to send, I'll just click on, in this case, it's a flyer. So I'll click on generate flyer and then we'll click on download flyer. We'll think about this for a moment. Now, what's particularly interesting about the postcards and the reason that I wanted to do a postcard to start off with is you can see that it looks like it is duplicated on two different sheets. Now the reason for that is this is meant to be printed double-sided. What you'll do is it'll print a single sheet of paper and it'll print two-sided. That way the front of the postcard and the back of the postcard will match up in both cases. If you printed double-sided, you actually have two postcards, you cut them in half and now you have two complete postcards. That is why it prints two copies per page here, so two fronts and two backs.

All right so close that out. And now let me go back over to our e-cards and flyers system. Here we are. Now in this instance, I'm going to choose an actual e-card and I think it's Valentine's Day, on an e-card. It is, perfect. Do love with the holidays coming up. I'll click on that template. This template is particularly nice here because it exhibits some of the more options that you have available for e-cards and flyers. In this case, this one will actually support multiple listings. You can see from the template that it had a few different listings laid out there. I'm just going to click on a couple of these. I will click all three. So now I've added three and you can see that it tapped three listings onto this e-card.

Now in addition to that, this one will even allow multiple agents. So if I click here, I can add a few different agents to this. Now if we go down, you can see that it's added in multiple agents to this e-card. The beauty here is you could set this up for a team in particular where you have multiple team members and maybe they're listing, putting these listings up individually, but they're all part of the same team. You could put all their listings on a single e-card and put all of their branding on that e-card as well before you send it out. You can see all that stuff fills in.

Now, in this case, I can also change out these photographs if I want. So if I click on this, it'll let me select from my file system in here if I wanted to put in a different picture. And the same goes here. Again, anything that highlights and red life, that is something that I can click on and I can edit. And now once you have this setup, you also have the ability to save as draft, but because this is an e-card, in addition to saving as a draft, I can click on send preview and I can actually send out a preview.

I was going to think about it, so there we go. I can send out a preview without actually setting myself up as a customer and playing that whole thing. Now that'll come through, show up in my email and I could verify that it looks the way I want before I actually click on send e-card and then follow through the rest of the process of selecting my recipients and then ultimately clicking send. Now in the last step when I click send, it'll show who all it sent to and then it will also like you saw when I printed the postcards, it gives you the options to share those out with social media.

Now let's say that you sent out any card or you send her set up a print flyer and you meant to share it with social media but you didn't. We'll go up here to e-cards and flyers. You can go back into the e-cards and flyer system and I can go up here to my history. Now from here, I can see all of my previously sent e-cards or previously generated flyers. If they're e-cards, I can actually see metrics on them here. If I can find one that's an e-card, here we go. You can see I have history details for this e-card. If I click on it, it'll show me how many were sent, how many were open, and how many were clicked through. Now, in this case, it was just a test deal, so it didn't really go anywhere. Then down here it'll show the actual recipients for that e-card along with when they opened it and when they clicked on the links in it to go through to the website.

You have all those metrics available there and if you wanted to re-share any of those, go back into our history. Under actions, I also have an option for share and if I click on that, it lets me share that out with social media. Even after the fact, after I've already sent this out, I do still have the option to go in and share it. Now I can also recreate these from here so I can go in and go to actions and then down to reprint. In the case of a print flyer or postcard or for an e-card, I can go down here and I can recreate, which will load it back up in that e-card interface so that I can make tweaks to it if I want and resend it again.

All right, so the next thing that we can do with e-cards and flyers and real quick, you also have some additional filter options here. You can filter by category, skipped over that as we went along, but just lets you choose e-cards or flyers that are specific to a certain category and you can use combinations of filters here. I can say show me only e-cards that have to do with birthdays and it loads up all the matches. Just an easier way that you can get down or kind of drill down to the e-card that you want because there are so many now.

All right, now the next thing you can do here is we'll go over to e-card automation wizard. It's our little magic wand here and if I click on that, I have the ability to set up e-card automations. These are all essentially set up the same way, but they're triggered by different things. At the top we have open houses, just sold, new listing. Those are all going to be triggered by listing information and events that take place on listings where stuff like homeowner anniversary, a wedding anniversary, child's birthday are going to be triggered by information specific to the customer account it's sending to. To give you an example to kind of explain that, if I go down here to new listing. That loads up my automation settings down here. I would switch this to on and then what it's going to do is every time a new listing comes on the market that the system associates with me three days after the new listing comes on the market, it is going to send out an email to these groups and I can select whatever customer groups in my account I want here. Or I can select all marketing customers, which would basically be everybody.

Then I select which template I wanted to send out when those new listings come in. Now if that template has any options available with it, in this case, I can select a logo for this one. I have that option and that just shows up below the template itself. If it had color options on those templates, then there would be options down here for colors as well. Like this one has an option for headline, so I can customize that. Then I would hit save automation and every time I get a new listing, this system would all take place for me. All these e-cards would go out automatically. Now, likewise, if I go down to let's say pet birthday, pet birthday's my favorite, so I'm going on a pet birthday. All of these settings work the same.

The difference is this is looking at the customers that are in the groups that I set here. So if I say all customers, it's going to look at all the customers I have and every time one of those customers have a pet birthday that comes up as set on their customer account, three days before the pet's birthday as per this setting, it is going to send out the e-card that I select down here with the subject line that I put here. Other than that, it works exactly the same like this one allows a headline and a message. You can see we have it filled in with some clever one liner there, but you can customize that however you'd like and then you can also choose from our different pet birthday templates. Then that's the template that will go out three days before the pet's birthday as per the information on the customer account. And again, once I haven't set up the way I want, I'll just hit save automation and that saves and then they'll just start sending out as those dates start rolling up.

Now, the next thing we have here is I've got just an option mostly meant for mobile that I can remove that filter bar if I want just to make it a little easier on mobile. On desktop it's not very obvious, but on mobile, it would be easier to get to the templates and see the templates that way. then lastly, I have an e-card settings button that lets me select what my default logo is going to be or my default company logo. It's nice if there are some different variations that are not just color-based, like most of the variations on logo are for light backgrounds versus dark backgrounds, but sometimes there's an actual variation in styling on the logo. If I have a favorite styling, I can select that here. I would just choose the one I want hit save settings and then that's the logo that would drop into all of my e-card flyer templates and everything by default.

I could still change it on those individually when I send them, but this would set your default one. So you have it. That's the e-cards and flyers system, including the new save draft and send preview functionality. So as always, thanks a lot for joining me. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, see any feedback, any features, or functions that you would like to add in, feel free to give us an email at support@deltagroup.com or give us a call and we'll be happy to talk it over with you.
