Growing up, Renee's father worked for Goodyear, and, consequently, Renee and her family moved all over the world. Renee commented, "I’ve lived in Luxembourg, South Africa, Montreal and Quebec, Canada. We traveled a lot more than that. But I’d say my favorite place I’ve ever traveled was Ölüdeniz, Turkey."
