Today Harley reviews setting a verified email address in the DeltaNET.

Video Transcription

Harley:

And welcome to another addition of Tech Tuesday presented by Delta Media Group. We were thinking that in today's real estate market, even houses on Elm street would be selling without an inspection. Ha. So, all right. So, today we are going to have a quick and easy one for you. We're going to take a look at some new functionality we just added to the DeltaNET, called... Leet me see what it's called. It's kind of called verified email addresses. Essentially, it allows you to set a verified email address in the DeltaNET. And then once that email address is verified, you can use it as your username, when logging in.

Harley:

It simplifies things for you, when just logging into the DeltaNET. Because now you can just put in your email address as your username, like you are probably used to doing in a variety of other platforms. But more than that, it simplifies your ability to log into the DeltaNET app. So right now, to log into the DeltaNET app, you have specific app credentials, you have to use to log in. This allows you to set this email address so you can use that and your standard password as your login instead. So, in order to do that, we're going to go to our profile page. We'll just click on our name up here in the top right, and then go down and click on profile.

Harley:

And now we can see right here in the top right, is our email address section. Now, if we want, we can narrow this page down. So if you're in a smaller browser window or anything, you don't see that right away. You can always just type an email to verify, or rather to narrow the page down, to just that section. And you'll see there's a new field here, that just says verify email. So, in order to set one, let's say I wanted to use my public email here, but I could really use any address I want, just keep in mind that that's the address I'll use as my username. Or be able to use as my username when logging in. But I just put that email address here in this field. And then I would just click, update email address. At that point, it will indicate to me that it has set a verified email address and I won't set it here because I don't actually want to attach this email address to this account.

Harley:

But what it does is it makes this my unique email address. This public email address, technically there can be more than one account with the same email address on it. But for the verified email address, it's a one-to-one relationship. Once you verified it, that email address can't be attached to any other account. Once you put it in here and you click update email address, the system will send you an email. And in that email, there'll just be a link to click on to verify your email address. Once you've clicked on it, your email address is now verified and you can immediately start using that as your username.

Harley:

Now, to give you an idea of what the interface looks like. I'll just go into another account so we can take a look at it. Once I switch over to this other account, I'll go back to this overviews page, and you can see that I have a verified email address here. Which is why I couldn't verify this email address with the other one. But my email address is verified and it tells me what date I actually verified it. At that point, whenever I go to the DeltaNET login page, I can use this as my username, right there on the page. Or when I download the DeltaNET app, if I did not download it through this interface, where it logs me into it immediately, I could use my email address as my username there. Just making in that login process a little bit easier.

Harley:

To take a look at the app, if I type here DeltaNET app to narrow this down, you can see that there are special credentials, that allow me to log into the app. Or if I click the button here, I can go straight to the download page and download it from the app store. If I click this button, to initiate that process, I'll already be logged in, when I launch the app. If I already have the app downloaded and I just haven't logged in, then I can click sign in here. And that will log me in as well, without these credentials. Or I can use these credentials to log in. Or lastly, if I have set up a verified email address, I can use this email address and my regular DeltaNET password and I can log in that way.

Harley:

You can see you now have a variety of ways to log into the DeltaNET and log into the app. And the hope is by setting a verified email like this, it will simplify your process of getting logged into the DeltaNET whenever you need to. So, as always, thanks a lot for joining me this week. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to send an email to support@deltagroup.com or give us a call and we can walk you through this functionality or anything else you need. Thanks a lot.
