On this episode of Tech Tuesday, Harley demonstrates how DeltaNET® 6 users can interact with the new DeltaNET® Academy. The episode covers viewing assigned courses, taking any courses available to them, as well as taking, retaking, and reviewing quizzes on courses where applicable.

Video Transcription

Harley:

Welcome to another edition of Tech Tuesday presented by Delta Media Group, where we recently had a microbiologist come and visit us in the office, and he was much bigger than I expected.

Harley:

So, today we will take a look at Delta Net Academy on the agent side of the Delta Net. This will just give you a general idea of how it is you can interact with Delta Net Academy and walk you through the interface so that you can see what that looks like, and see how to use it when you do have courses that are assigned to you in Delta Net Academy.

Harley:

So, first and foremost, if Delta Net Academy has been turned on for your company, you may find it down here under the other resources tab. And there's a tile here labeled Delta Net Academy. Because these tiles are customizable and even the side navigation is customizable. If it does not appear for you there, you may be able to find it by just typing Delta Net Academy up here in the quick actions. It'll help if I type the whole thing, there we go. And you can see Delta Net Academy comes up as one of my navigation items here. And if I click on it, that will take me through to the Delta Net Academy landing page.

Harley:

Now, first and foremost, you have a bit of company information up here in the top. You can see we just have the Delta Net Academy logo here. But on a company by company level, you are able to have this customized up here, so you may see a message from your company here.

Harley:

Next, you have the assigned courses section, and this just lays out any courses that are assigned to you, along with what the course name is, the due date, and a start button that just allows you to quickly jump into any courses that have been assigned. You can see that I have a couple that are past due, so it shows up in red here, but those that are not yet due or they're due sometime in the future, just have it laid out here in black.

Harley:

Now, if you do have a lot of courses laid up here, you can also click on this view full calendar and get an actual calendar view to see those courses as well. So you can see that I have two that are due on May 2nd and it shows them right here on the list, and then another value add and we'll go ahead and bump it ahead a month. Another nice piece here is I can start the course right from here as well. So if I just click on either of these, it takes me straight into that start course module.

Harley:

Now, the next thing we have down here is the courses section. So this just lays out all of the courses that are available to you. By default, it will show only incomplete courses, but you can use this status dropdown and you can change that to all, and now you can see all courses. We'll switch that back over to incomplete. So those are the courses that I haven't completed yet.

Harley:

Now, we do have some functionality that's coming very soon that will allow you to search by more criteria here. So you'll actually be able to type in a course name if you're looking to track down a specific course. So once you've landed here, generally, you'll go and take the courses that are assigned to you first, but you can take these really in any order, however you want. Any course that's available to you, you can just click on start and that'll open up that course start module, but I'll go ahead and click on organizing your client database.

Harley:

So we'll click on start. That opens up this module. It would be the same thing if I clicked on start on any of the boxes down here in the course section, and now, what this does is at the top, it lays out a description of this specific course. So I can read this over. There can be some more information here. There can be pictures here. So, it just depends on how the course was built. But in this case, you have a brief description here, and then I can click on any of these modules as well. And you can see that it loads up a description for each module as I click on it.

Harley:

Now, in the case of this course, I can take these in whatever order I'd like. But if this course is limited to require you to take the course modules in order, then all the other modules would be grayed out. You would just be able to click on the first module and click start, and then it wouldn't open up the next module till that first one was complete. So in this case, we'll go ahead and take the first one. So I'll just click on that. We'll click start. And there we go.

Harley:

So this particular course is really just a video. So they're a particular course module rather. It's just a video. So what I would do is I would watch this video. There we go. We've got some fine music there. But this will run through. And then this will give us all the information we need for this course. And you can see, we have just a finish button down here at the bottom. Now, these courses can be made up of multiple slides. So right now this video's just playing in the background for us. So we'd watch this whole video, click finish, and you can see it marks that module is completed.

Harley:

Now, there are some modules that may require you to watch the whole video. So you can see, and we'll load up the next one so you can see it. Click on start. So you can see I can click play on the video. I have all my video controls down here and this finished button is open for me. So it's really up to me whether I watch this video or not. Now, for some course modules, the video is required before you can advance to the next slide. So this could just be a module that is just a single video and this finish button would actually be grayed out until I've watched the entire video. And if that's the case, it does actually show a message here as well that indicates that you have to watch the entire video before you can click finish, or before you can click and move onto the next slide if there are multiple slides in this particular course. So I'll click finish on this one.

Harley:

Now, normally, you would obviously watch through all the videos and soak up whatever information they provide, but in this case, we'd like to get through this so that we can take a look at the quiz system so I can give you a look at that. So I'm just going to click on start here, and we'll finish that one out. Start, finish. Now, normally you're, like I said, obviously doing this to benefit from the information that the videos provide, but for the sake of argument, for the sake of demonstration, we've just gone through, and we'll say that we've watched all those videos, we've soaked up all the information they provide, clicked finish, and that has marked each of those as completed.

Harley:

So the modules themselves are completed, but the course is not completed until we take the quiz. Now, some courses require a quiz and some do not. So this particular one does. So I'm going to click on take quiz. So let's see what file formats can be used for uploads into the Delta Net. I don't remember all the answers so we're going to guess on some of these. So what third parties can be synced automatically when activating at the company level?

Harley:

There we go. You get the general idea here. We'll see if we passed this quiz or not. There we go. So we've completed our quiz and we passed it. So in this case, it said we've completed the course. Now, if we hadn't passed the quiz, it would indicate that we need to take it again because we haven't passed it. Now, this particular course has the quiz setting set to allow me to retake the quiz if I want so I can retake it at my leisure, and also to review the quiz. So if I just want to review the quiz and see how I did on each of the questions, see which ones I got right, which ones I got wrong, I do have the ability to do that as well.

Harley:

So those options might not be available on every quiz. That just depends when the course is set up, if you are allowed to retake the quiz, and if you are allowed to review the quiz after you've taken it. So in this case, we click on review. Now retake just takes us through. And it's exactly what it sounds like. We just retake the quiz. But review the quiz actually shows us each of the questions, and then shows us how we answered and whether it was correct or not. So you can see the little green check mark shows me that's the correct answer, and that's the answer I selected.

Harley:

So there we go. Overall, it looks like I did pretty good. It's almost as if I wrote the quiz. So we've taken this quiz. We'll go ahead and close this out. And now if we go down here, you'll notice that because this is filtered to incomplete quizzes, or incomplete courses rather, that course now that I've completed it, is no longer in the list. However, if I did want to take it again at any point, I can go up here and I can switch this back to all. And I can find that organizing your client database quiz again. Now it has a view button instead of a start button because I already took it. But if I click view that opens that module back up and I can go back through any of these modules as I see fit. And as I said, with this particular one, I can even retake the quiz or just review the quiz in its answers if I'd like.

Harley:

So there you go. It's as simple as that. That is how you can get in here and start taking any courses that are assigned to you, or really any other courses that are available to you so that you can learn as much as possible as how to market yourself and market your business, using the Delta Net. Really, or anything else your company creates quizzes for in fact.

Harley:

So, as always, thanks a lot for joining me. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to send an email to support@deltagroup.com or give us a call and we can help you out with this, or whatever else you need. Thanks a lot.
