Tech Tuesday - Verified Phone Numbers
In this video, Harley Wolfarth demonstrates how you can set a verified cell phone number that can be used as your username when logging into the DeltaNET via the web or the mobile app.

Hello, and welcome to Tech Tuesday, presented by Delta media group, where we just hired a whole bunch of spiders. They're really good at building websites. So today I've got a nice, quick and easy one for you. We have just added functionality to the Delta Net that allows you to verify a phone number. And once you verified it, you can actually use it as your username when logging into the Delta Net, both on the web app, so if you go to your company website and you scroll to the bottom and click on agents only log in, or just go to online dot your company domain.com. That'll take you to the login page also, or if you download the app, the Delta Net app from the Apple or the Google App Store. So either way, you'll be able to use this username in conjunction with your regular Delta Net password to log in, thereby just making life a little bit easier.
Harley:
So you can see I've logged into the Delta Net. So in order to set up a verified phone number, I'm just going to click on my name up here at the top and click on profile. And now I can either scroll down to the phone numbers section, and that's not very far down here, or primary phone number, personal. Personal phone numbers, that's what I want. Or just to make life a little easier, I'll just type phone up here at the top, and you can see it narrows all these sections down to just what I'm looking for, and personal phone numbers is right here. Now, you'll notice that there is now a verify button here with the cell phone number in the personal phone number section. So all I need to do here is punch in a phone number.
Harley:
Here we go. So I just punch in a phone number, presumably a cell phone number would be the idea. In fact, it has to be a cell phone number, otherwise you won't get the text message necessary to verify it. But once your number's in here, or if your number's already in here, just click verify and the system will send out a text message to that number. Now, when you receive that text message on your phone, you just need to tap that message and that will effectively verify your number. Now, I don't have a way of showing you my phone here, so I can't verify that part of it, but just trust me, you will get a text message and then there'll be a link in that message. You just tap the message, or tap the link in the message rather, and that will take you to a page that confirms that your number's been verified.
Harley:
So once your number's been verified, we'll go ahead and sign out here, you can just put your number in, and then put in whatever your regular Delta Net password is, and click sign in, and it will log you into the account that is associated with that verified number. Now, you can see that this was a different number and a different account than I was looking at before. Once you verified your number, the system will actually tell you and get that out of here. Once you verified your number, if you go back to that personal phone number section, again on your profile page, you can see that it does indicate that you did verify your number and shows you what date that you verified it. So that is why I showed you on one account so you could see that verified button and then logged into a different one.

So there you have it. And as I said, really the beauty of this is the fact that this number can now be used as your username not only for the Delta Net to log in here, but whenever you use the mobile app on your phone, the app that you've downloaded from the iTunes. Actually, it's just the Apple App Store now, I believe, or the Google Play Store. So there you go. That is how you can quickly and easily set up that verified phone number to save yourself a little bit of effort.
