My name is Sandra Troccoli, and I have been working directly with Delta Media Group since July 17, 2009. When I joined Homesale, Homesale had its first version of its website, they had already rolled out. It was probably one of the only websites in the marketplace at the time. We as a company, we understood the value of providing to a consumer what they're looking for in ours that the newspaper may not be published, and in the wee hours of the morning when they get home from working their second or third shift and they want to be searching for listings, but real estate agents aren't necessarily awake to be called, and be asking information.
We recognized that there was a need. We started developing our website, and providing a place for sellers of properties and buyers to connect digitally, and creating that environment to allow buyers to search at home, in the comfort of their home in their slippers, in their robes, and their coffee, whatever hour of the day or night that it was convenient for them. The technology quickly caught up to where the industry was heading, and now there are people out there who don't remember what it was like to poll the Sunday newspaper and look at the open houses. It's kind of a nostalgic feeling to say, "Hey, let's circle this listing. Let's go look at that one, and get in the car."
Now, they do it virtually. They don't have to get in the car and drive. They get to do in the comfort of their homes sitting on their sofa with their laptop, or their tablet on their lap and projecting it on their big screen TV, and looking at the inside of a home that they may be interested in buying. I'm really excited to see what the future holds for us from a technology perspective. The one thing I do know about technology is it's ever-changing, ever-evolving, and Delta has very clearly depicted for us that they get that, they understand that, and they are wholly focused on making sure they can see around the bend for us, give us a heads-up on what they see coming, strategize with us on how we can best utilize what's coming down the pipe for us, and help us get to the next level.
