No matter what kind of task you're facing down, everything looks more difficult before you start it. By moving quickly and seamlessly from one positive engagement to another, you're building momentum. Momentum is a real psychological phenomenon that assists in performance.

Psychological momentum has been described as a "key to continued success." It helps individuals β€” from professional athletes to real estate agents β€” to experience longer sequential runs of success, maintaining positive feelings for longer periods of time.

The longer you can hold on to momentum, the more likely you are to achieve overall success in all your goals. But it's important not to look at momentum as simply a matter of efficiency and productivity. It's also about staying "in the zone," focusing on what matters most, and not delaying what should be done.

The right real estate technology may well be the key.

AI-Driven Real Estate Technology Is Your "Center of Excellence" for Momentum in 2023

Momentum consists of three things:

  • Knowing what's most important to do now
  • Doing those important things consistently
  • Letting your wins carry you to other wins

That means you need to start with a vision. Without a vision, it's all too easy to get caught up in a cycle of "putting out fires." That leaves you in a position where everything you do seems right and necessary, but the end result is totally unsatisfying. It's a rut, the opposite of building momentum.

Once you have a vision, then you need to reduce the friction between you and the performance. That's where real estate technology comes in β€” especially real estate marketing automation. With a real estate CRM like DeltaNET, you cut down on rote work and reduce the possibility of human error.

Your real estate CRM can plug into every aspect of your plan, but first, you need to have one.

Let's take a look at the whole picture:

  • Begin with an Overall Vision
Envision your business in the best future state that you can possibly imagine, dated December 2023. It should be so different from today that you feel energized, but not so extravagant that you think it must be impossible. Find a sweet spot that excites you, then ask clarifying questions: What kind of clients are you working with in this future? How many? What do you spend most of your day on in this future?

  • Break Down the Vision into Goals
To be realized, a vision needs to be broken down into actionable goals that contribute to a strategy. It's easiest to start with your endpoint and work backwards. Figure out what you'd need to do every month and every quarter from now until then to reach your vision. With your major goals in mind, you can set the agenda for each day by writing the next day's priority list in the evening before bed.

  • Execute on Your Vision
Executing on your vision means coming back to it every day. That requires you to build some new habits. You'll need a prioritized to-do list finished each evening. During the day, when new tasks come into your life, scrutinize them carefully to see if they really help you reach your vision. Look at things you'll need to do long-term, like studying for a certification, and proactively schedule those things in first.

  • Rest Effectively, But Don't Delay
It's crucial to rest and consolidate what you learn from every experience. At the same time, don't delay things you could reasonably get done now because the mood isn't right. Always ask yourself seriously if the situation will really improve tomorrow or not. You really get into flow only if you enter into the task. Do focused work in blocks, and remember β€” productivity drops off after 50 hours a week!

  • Eliminate Extraneous Work
Use marketing automation to get more things done with less effort. For example, if you decide email marketing will be part of your approach for deepening customer relationships, set up your campaigns with DeltaNET 7 so you do less writing of emails and more high-level strategy. You can apply the same technology to social media, open houses, and many more as you determine what fits you best.

  • Establish Time for Lessons Learned
Each week, review what you achieved and remind yourself of your overall goals. Note what you did that was most effective. If things crept into your priority list that weren't really that valuable in hindsight, just nudge them off in the coming week. Make time for a monthly retrospective, tooΒ  this gives you a time to make any bigger changes without second-guessing yourself every day or every week.

Momentum is essential to human flourishing and business success. The right technology helps you reach it. Contact us to find out more about how technology can empower your practice.
